Classic Gin & Tonic (G&T)
This is a classic cocktail that all gin drinkers should know how to make – it’s light, delicious, versatile and can be enjoyed all year round. The flavour varies with the ratios and the quality of the ingredients – it’s all about the gin and the tonic after all.
INGREDIENTS
- 50mls Daylesford Spirit Australian Dry Gin
- 100mls tonic water
- Fresh lime wedges
- Sprig of rosemary (optional)
- Ice
GLASSWARE
- A rocks glass or a highball glass.
METHOD
- Pack a large glass with lots of ice. Pour the gin over the ice.
- Squeeze in a wedge of lime, then top with the tonic water.
SERVING SUGGESTION
Garnish with a lime wedge. Serve in a rocks glass or highball glass.
TIPS
- The flavour varies with the ratios and the quality of the ingredients – it's all about the gin and the tonic after all.
- If you prefer your cocktails a little less gin-forward, try a 3:1 ratio and use 150ml of tonic.
- Always use freshly opened tonic water; flat tonic will spoil the cocktail.
- Larger ice cubes are better as they melt more slowly.
- Fresh lime is a must; avoid the concentrate.
