Classic Gin & Tonic (G&T)

This is a classic cocktail that all gin drinkers should know how to make – it’s light, delicious, versatile and can be enjoyed all year round. The flavour varies with the ratios and the quality of the ingredients – it’s all about the gin and the tonic after all.

INGREDIENTS

  • 50mls Daylesford Spirit Australian Dry Gin
  • 100mls tonic water
  • Fresh lime wedges
  • Sprig of rosemary (optional)
  • Ice

GLASSWARE

  • A rocks glass or a highball glass.

METHOD

  • Pack a large glass with lots of ice. Pour the gin over the ice.
  • Squeeze in a wedge of lime, then top with the tonic water.

SERVING SUGGESTION

Garnish with a lime wedge. Serve in a rocks glass or highball glass.

TIPS

  • The flavour varies with the ratios and the quality of the ingredients – it's all about the gin and the tonic after all.
  • If you prefer your cocktails a little less gin-forward, try a 3:1 ratio and use 150ml of tonic.
  • Always use freshly opened tonic water; flat tonic will spoil the cocktail.
  • Larger ice cubes are better as they melt more slowly.
  • Fresh lime is a must; avoid the concentrate.
